Would loved to have seen Kadri on the Flames, I think he would have been a fan favorite withing the first few games. |

Quite the stretch Kadri was only flexing his muscles. If on his no trade list it was for a reason. Til he is asked & answers it was never happening. He was in no position to force the Leafs to keep him. |

I believe Chris Johnston or Bob McKenzie mentioned last week that another team was interested in Kadri and he didn't want to go there either. Wanted to stay with the Leafs. |

Not doubting that but he wasn’t in control of staying. Something in Leaf land had to give & he was a key piece to do so. |

So glad Kadri nixed that deal, getting Barrie and Kerfoot is a way better return than Brodie and Jankowski. |

If it's not a slight on Calgary then why did he agree to the avs. It's not like he still stayed in Toronto, he knew he was going somewhere. Facts are facts the flames aren't a destination like you would like it to be, and players rather not go there. Could also be they don't really see them as a championship calibre team,or its the city or the water in the change room. You pick either way it's an ugly reality. |

Sure sure it was a khl team I think he rejected. Total made up cover story to soften the rejection. |

Because the Avs weren't on his no trade list so he had no control over that. Basically, he didn't want to leave Toronto and refused the trade until he contractually wasn't able to do so. |

You hear Ek saying that the Flames have had talks about Gaudreau for Hall?!?!
I would fcking puke!!! - Clyde334
I wouldnt get too head up on that buddy! No way that happens now. But I can realistically see this conversation happening next summer. If Hall doesnt extend, Devils dont make playoffs & if Tre feels Gaudreau is gone in two years, well.....if Hall is willing to extend with us, it wont be out of reality. But other pieces would definitely have to be thrown in & deal would be a massive blockbuster. I cant imagine but wow. There will be huge value to come back to Calgary to get a 2 years at a steal of $6.75 mill per on Gaudreau. But I would bet huge $$$ Gaudreau is a Flame next year & aint going anywhere. |

Not sure I agree with that from a leaf fan perspective. Janikowski is better than kerfoot, and Brodie would have been way easier to extend than Barrie.
Barrie and his reported 8 x 8 mil per ask on his next day are one and done in Toronto. And that is a killer to trade a contract like Kadris for. |

I'm guessing he also looked at the make up of the Flames and saw himself playing 3C again if he went there. I don't think he wanted to leave Toronto, but if he was going to, he surely wanted a 2C spot. Avalanche don't have the same competition for that spot that a team like Calgary does. |

He didn't. Colorado wasn't on his no-trade list so he had no choice. He nixed deals to stay in Toronto until they found a team he couldn't block a trade to.
These Oilers trolls are getting worse and worse. At least get informed about what some contracts look like before trying to poop on the Flames. |

Ek read somewhere that Gaudreau was born in NJ and Hall was born in Calgary. Plus the original blog mentioned AZ and the Yotes don't have enough fans to get the clicks up for the blog. |

Oh ya? You can see this trade happening next summer when Taylor Hall is a UFA? |

You really think the Flames are going to trade Gaudreau for a UFA? Why wouldn't they just, you know, pay him and keep Gaudreau?

I am not sure JG wants to stick around. Jersey would be a good fit for him. Closer to his mom. |

Sure, but maybe it's a better idea to trade him for someone who isn't a UFA.

No sh!t Exlax. Only way Tre would do a trade for Hall next year is if they talk to him before hand & have his name on the extension. |

I guess you don't really know what a UFA is. Hall gets to pick where he plays after next. If he wants to play for Calgary and Calgary wants to pay him what he wants, he just signs in Calgary. If they're talking to him beforehand and agree to a contract, there's no need to make a trade. The most the Flames would give up is like a 4th round pick to make sure they can sign him before the rest of the league has a shot.
The Flames trading Gaudreau for a player they could just sign is the most idiotic decision they could make. Maybe they figure something out at the deadline that's contingent on Hall extending, but there's zero chance that that deal would involve Gaudreau.
This isn't the NBA. Sign and trades aren't a thing. |
